Why Rescue?
The Bhutanese dog, a native breed to Bhutan, faces significant challenges due to widespread misconceptions about their nature. Despite their intelligence and lovable personalities, these dogs are often misunderstood as wild or dangerous. This misunderstanding severely impacts their chances of being adopted, especially when they are older than 65 days or have any history of injury.
Helping the Animals No One Else Will
At Zeus Nakulu Dog Shelter, we rescue an average of 40 dogs and cats every month. Our mission is to be the change that Bhutan’s innocent street animals desperately deserve and need. We provide these animals with the opportunity—often their only opportunity—to live happy and healthy lives, even when other organizations may turn them away.
